Content Overview:
- Theory: Participants learn about forklift types, components, and operational principles, as well as safety regulations and responsibilities.
- Practical Skills: Hands-on training includes manoeuvring, loading, and unloading techniques in a controlled environment.
- Assessment: At the end of the course, learners are evaluated through both written and practical tests to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
Participants will learn about different types of forklifts, including counterbalance, reach trucks, and pallet trucks, as well as their specific functions and applications.
The course emphasises the importance of understanding relevant health and safety regulations, including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).
Participants will gain hands-on experience operating forklifts, focusing on essential skills such as manoeuvring, loading, unloading, and stacking materials.
On completion of the course, novices will be equipped with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to operate forklifts safely.
